Living Water is drawn from the fourth chapter of the Gospel of John. Christ is seated at the edge of a well, and living water flows from Him. A clay jar rests in the foreground, set down and left behind.

In the distance, the Samaritan woman stands in the current as the people of Sychar come out from the village toward the water. The arc above the figure of Christ is rendered in raised texture, and the palette moves from warm sunrise tones at the horizon to the cool blue of open sky and water.
